A Brief History of Hawes Real Estate
Hawes Real Estate was started in 1957 by Mr. Kenneth L. Hawes shortly after his graduation from Pepperdine University. In the early years HRE primarily bought and sold Real Estate for clients. Along the way, Mr. Hawes obtained many income properties for himself, friends, family members, and other clients. Mr. Hawes was very active in all aspects of managing the properties, including restoration and maintenance. In 1972, Mr. Hawes disbanded most of his sales force and set up the office mainly as a Property Management Company.
In 1999, Debbie Condrey (Mr. Hawes’s Step Daughter) came to work for Hawes Real Estate. Debbie has worked in, and run, every department within the company. Over the years, Debbie has received extensive training by Mr. Hawes and has become a very proficient Property Manager. By 2004, Debbie was managing the office. In 2007, the company was purchased by Debbie.
In 2008, Scott Condrey (Debbie’s Husband) became the Managing Broker for the Company. Scott has worked for the company on and off since 1999. He has worked both in the office and in the field as a maintenance man.
He has his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the
University of La Verne, is a Journeyman Carpenter, and a Real Estate Broker.
We are a family-owned business and still use many of Mr. Hawes’s techniques and philosophies today. In fact, every once in a while you can find Scott and Debbie alongside Ken and Rene Hawes out at one of their properties getting it ready for a new tenant.
We strive to maximize our owners' profit while creating and maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment in which our tenants may live their lives. We also feel that our customer service is second to none in the industry.
